TENCO SOLAR is named a 2025 Top Solar Contractor

Los Angeles, CA July 21, 2025 — The renewable energy industry is entering a challenging period as federal incentives, including the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), face steep cuts and early phaseouts. These changes threaten to slow the rapid growth the solar sector has enjoyed in recent years.
Despite these headwinds, 2024 was a record-breaking year for solar energy, marking the largest single-year addition of new energy capacity to the U.S. grid in over 20 years.
TENCO SOLAR played a significant role in this milestone, earning a spot on Solar Power World’s 2025 Top Solar Contractors list.
The Top Solar Contractors list is the most widely recognized annual ranking of U.S. solar companies, compiled by Solar Power World to honor the businesses driving decarbonization and strengthening America’s clean energy economy. Companies are ranked by 2024 installed capacity (kWDC), organized by service type (EPC, installation subcontractor, developer, etc.), market (residential, commercial, utility), and state.
"We’re honored to be named a Top Solar Contractor for 2025. This recognition highlights our success in helping California businesses lower operating expenses while taking meaningful steps toward sustainability. Thank you to all of our customers and commercial partners that have helped enable our growth, and we are excited to continue supporting our customers across the state of California,” said Dan McIntyre, President of TENCO SOLAR.
In addition to a spot in the ranking, TENCO SOLAR’s RJ Noble Installation (a 1.1MW installation) was featured as one of the most innovative nationwide. You can read more about the installation here.
“From the smallest residential projects to the largest utility-scale solar farms, these installations are keeping the lights on and keeping power affordable. We’re thrilled to recognize another outstanding class of Top Solar Contractors, and look forward to persevering through legislative hurdles to celebrate our 15-year edition next year,” said Kelsey Misbrener, managing editor of Solar Power World.
The country installed nearly 50 GW of new solar capacity in 2024, with solar and storage accounting for 84% of all new electric generating capacity added to the grid.
